Universe is Love Cake

This cake is particularly close to my heart for so many reasons. Not only does it incorporate my two favorite colors, black and rainbows, but it also speaks volumes about my outlook on life and cake: no matter how bad things may look, they’re probably still delicious on the inside.

Thanks to COVID, I didn’t get to make any Pride Month cakes this year and it really bummed me out at first. Then, one day, I had some extra black fondant that was going to get thrown out and I suddenly had this idea!

What about a cake that represents the indomitable spirit of love and joy in the face of pain and darkness? And since baking is my therapy, I went ahead and made it. And here it is; my tiniest cake with all the love in the world squished inside until its literally bursting at the seams! I mean...what else is there to life than love and cake?
